Emoticon?? Search an Emoticon

Beginners of the internet talk will often don’t understand all emoticons fully (Raising Hands, I only knew only 4, 5 emoticons).Ask.com has recently introduced a feature that will help you to find what an emoticon means. They also provides relevant data and links for more details about each search results.

Here are some examples

They are also building search facility for chat talks

In addition to smileys, we’re building a set of Smart Answers for instant messaging shorthand likebrb, lol and rotfl.

Again, we just don’t give you the definition but also links to sites where you can learn more.

We plan on doing more with non-alphanumeric searching in the future.

How to keep your search history private

I was reading a post at searchenginejournal it is about the latest incidents that most of us are familiar with the AOL search data leak,Orkut VS Brazil Govt etc.As the search data can reveal a lot about you and your charachter a lot it is essential to keep your search history protected, but I dont think big search engines like Google will give out your search data but I doubt about Yahoo! as they have given user information to Chineese Govt.

    • Donā€™t put personally-identifying information in your searches, at least not in a way that can be associated with your other searches. You should take the precautions below to avoid giving away your identity to your search engine anyway, but theyā€™re especially necessary if you want to do a search to see if your personal information has appeared online or want to do a vanity search for your name.
    •  Donā€™t use a search engine operated by your ISP. Most ISPs inherently know who their users are, at any given time and over the long run. If you use their default search tool, they know who you are and everything you search for. Use someone elseā€™s search tool instead.
    •  Donā€™t log in to a search engine account. If you use a web-based e-mail service or other services provided by your search engine ā€” such as GMail or Yahoo! Mail ā€” see below on cookies.
    •  Donā€™t accept cookies from your search engine. If you use a service like web-based e-mail that requires you to accept cookies, donā€™t let the personally-identifying information in your e-mail get linked with your searches. For Firefox users, the free CustomizeGoogle extension will allow you to anonymize your search cookie without breaking GMail (see the ā€œPrivacyā€ tab in the CustomizeGoogle options). Weā€™re still looking for extensions that provide corresponding functionality for Yahoo!, MSN, and AOL users. You can also use Privoxy, although itā€™s a bit more difficult to configure.
    •  Use a separate browser or browser profile for search and for other activities.
    •  Use an anonymizing proxy, or proxy network like Tor, to prevent search engines from learning your IP address, especially if your ISP gives you the same IP address each time you use the Internet.

New Blogger Beta from Google

Google announced the new blogger beta, google famous blogging service to get back into competiton MSN spaces is currently the market leader. The new features include support for new visual styles addition of catagories etc.

Very few bloggers are offerd thier existing blogs to be converted to the beta program currently but more will be added later. But in my opinion wordpress.com is really good the only problem is that they dont have many themes. But blogger offers advertising using google adsense too.

Windows Live Writer

This isn’t a Messenger-Releated news topic, but a exclusive one.

Microsoft, will be reaviling a new Windows Live product this Monday (August 14, 2006). This new product will be called Windows Live Writer. This new product from Microsoft will allow a user to write documents/blog postings from a downloadable application called Windows Live Writer and post them to a blog (other than Windows Live Spaces). Right know, we have no other known features, except Spell Check, of this product untill Monday the 14th.

Beau Giles creator of Inside-Live.com is the only known person (that we know) that has this new software from Microsoft. He gave me a few hints, but was not the person that I found out it was Windows Live Writer from. He also gave me a screenshot, but I don’t know if it is the real thing:
