How to pronounce english words with Howjsay

Many of non-native english speakers make the mistake of learning the wrong pronounciations. But, this service may help you to understand how a word should be pronounced. I usually used answers.com for learning the pronouciation. I think  this one is also good!

Type a word or phrase and hear it spoken back to you. Howjsay is an English pronunciation dictionary that uses recorded sound rather than text-to-speech synthesis. Enter a word or phrase, wait for it to appear on the page in pink, then hover your mouse over the word(s) to hear the pronunciation. Supports both UK and American spellings. URL: Howjsay.

Filed under: Internet, Reviews, Softwares, Tips, Web 2.0 — knight17 @ 12:19 am

If you want to stream your music files (on your PC) when you are using another computer. There is an easy way to accomplish this task.

Avenue music player is for you.Itlets you select 250 of your favorite songs to stream over the Internet(to whoever you choose). The music must be DRM-Free and is only playable online for up to five days.

The player lets you select individual tracks or playlists to stream over the Internet. How does it work? The Avvenu system uploads the songs to the Avvenu Media Center, which allows you to access the songs even when the computer is off. You can sort through your songs by genre, track name, artist name, or your own custom playlists. The best part about Avvenu is that it is free, and is accessible from any Windows or Apple computer, as well as any Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone - however, you need to have iTunes installed forAvvenu to work properly

I’ll admit that calculators are not considered very exciting. But they’re pretty cool when you consider what they can do for you.

If you’ve ever dreamed of being a millionaire, you’ve probably wondered how long it will take. Or maybe you just want to know how big your savings will be in 10 years.

You could start up your spreadsheet program and do some calculations. But that can take a while. And you’ll need to know the formulas.

There’s an easier way to do financial calculations: Dr. Calculator. The site offers numerous calculators. Just plug in the numbers and click Calculate. You’ll have answers in seconds! That means you can spend more time attaining your goals.
